Looking for a Good Fit

Over the past 20 years our shoes have been featured in various retail shops around the country.  About a year ago we decided it was time to step things up a notch.  We created a website, started this blog and built a fairly large Facebook following.  We've worked to make our presence known online, and now it's time to hit the pavement and get ourselves into some new retail spaces.  Instead of spending hours Googling shoe stores, clothing boutiques and gift shops,  we thought we'd start the old fashioned way - through the recommendations of friends.

You know our shoes, you understand our philosophies and you probably have a good sense about which kinds of shops we belong in and which we don't.  We would love to know if you have any shops, boutiques or opportunities in mind for sales or collaborations of any sort.  You can leave your suggestions in the comment box below or, if you'd prefer, you can email them to me at aurorashoealyssa(at)gmail.com.

Thank you for your support online and in person. Every bit of feedback we receive keeps us moving forward.

  1. How about putting them in "college" towns ie. Northampton,MA

  2. I think Athens GA would be great place to sell your shoes. It is a big college town and it is always busy. Coming from Scipio NY it is quite a change and yet it is not a big city like Atlanta. I used to make those shoes back in the early 90's. I still wear them and I love them. I think you would find a market for them here. Remember it is hot in the summer and those open toed shoes would be great.

  3. Northampton, MA is the perfect fit for Aurora Shoes. The Mountain Goat on Main St comes to mind.

  5. Gartner's Capital Shoe Hospital in Bismarck, ND. It is a pretty practical place, but they carry a small line of shoes that are higher quality (repairable!) and the people who go there are probably looking for good shoes.

  7. Try my favorite local shoe store in Urbana, IL called Heel to Toe. They have in house shoe repair, certified orthotists and a lovely collection of shoes. Until I purchased a pair of your fabulous shoes, I have only bought shoes from them... beautiful and good for my feet. Here is the web address http://www.heel2toe.net/.

  8. In Portland, OR you might talk to Alder & Co (http://www.alderandcoshop.com/) and Tumbleweed (http://tumbleweedboutique.com/shop.html). Both carry a small selection of shoes, but aren't primarily shoe stores.
For shoe stores: Art N Sole (http://artnsole.net/) and Footwise (http://www.footwise.com/) both specialize in comfort brands.
